Opening Quantery on macOS Temporary
Current macOS builds are not yet notarized with Apple (our developer registration is in progress), so the first launch needs one extra step. This is macOS’s standard Gatekeeper behavior for any app from outside the App Store — nothing is wrong with your download.
- Open the
.dmgand drag Quantery into Applications as usual. - In Applications, right-click (or Control-click) Quantery → Open. A dialog warns that the app is from an unidentified developer.
- Click Open. macOS remembers your choice — every launch after this one is a normal double-click.
On newer versions of macOS the dialog may only offer “Done”. If so: open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about Quantery, and click “Open Anyway”, then confirm.
Still blocked — or macOS says “Quantery.app is damaged and can’t be opened”? A common cause is the quarantine flag macOS adds to downloads. Clearing it usually resolves both, with one Terminal command (Applications → Utilities → Terminal); then open the app normally:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Quantery.app
Signed and notarized macOS builds are in progress and will remove
this step in an update. Windows: SmartScreen may show a
“protected your PC” notice on first run — choose
“More info → Run anyway”. Linux: make the AppImage
executable before launching it —
chmod +x Quantery-*.AppImage — then run it.
